Progress Sneak Peek - December 26


Hello everyone and welcome to a new sneak peek of Lucky Paradox

I hope you all were able to enjoy a nice Christmas and happy holidays!

In my case, it's been half-hearted, as I've had a lot of work to do in Argleton hahaha

These weeks have been quite experimental, although I've also made quite a bit of progress with the new content.

I promise I'll be as brief as possible this time xD

In terms of writing, a large portion of story content has been added for Layla, let's say it would be the equivalent of two previous updates, while for Prim I've edited some of the new content, as I felt that too much was happening in too little time, and it was ruining the pacing of the story a bit, still, it should be a considerable amount (Equivalent to the start of the tournament in the previous version).

This is only main story content, this time there is no Christmas content (Maybe for next year).

Three new potion depravation events have also been finalized (Two for Prim and one for Layla), they would complement all the content of the update, so the writing should already be finished and would go to the translation phase.

Progress has also been made on renders for the new content, although this may take longer due to the complexity of some scenes, variations, and scenarios (It’s easier to say than do it).

On the programming side, some of the code for the new content has been done, but I have also spent time doing some testing.

My goal with this is to try to solve two problems, the first would be the new version of Android and the second, fast updates.

Lucky Paradox already has a considerable size (That’s what she said), so I think it is necessary to create an alternative to update the game faster, what I mean by this is that it is only necessary to download the new content and not the entire game.

To achieve this goal, I must first create a new "build" of the game, which allows to copy and paste these new content files, so I must find a new way to organize the content. Then, I have the Android version that it's twice the work (if I'm honest, I don't think it's possible or at least, not now), so I will try to make this change in the PC version as soon as possible (between this update and the next one).

For now, it is necessary to finalize a lot of renders, programming and finally testing, so I don't think it is necessary to make a progress report between this post and the release of the update (It would be very boring since it is a more monotonous work).

Um... About the android version. I don't know the details, but 2 or 3 months ago, when I was looking for an app that would let me play unity games (that don't have an Android version) on my phone, I stumbled upon some post that mentioned a converter of sorts - meaning that it would convert that game into an Android version in a few minutes. Maybe there is something similar for your program? (Renpy if orc right?)

NEVER do a Christmas or Easter or any other holiday update. It requires a lot of work, and yet get automatically uninstalled a few weeks later! Just keep working on the game you're on, whether it's Lucky Paradox, or a future title! And I hope you have a very productive and prosperous 2023!
