Progress Sneak Peek - May 23


Hello everyone and welcome to a new sneak peek of Lucky Paradox

It's been some few weeks really weird in terms of progress in the development of Lucky Paradox, as I've had to think about some concepts again, but I think they will be changes for the better.

I've been working based on what will be the new content during this last part of version 0.8, focusing mainly on the new story content for Mary, though for now I don't want to give too many details to avoid spoilers, but I still have a lot to write for both Sasha and Charlotte.

During version 0.8 were included some “depravity events”, which are events that depend on the amount of purple hearts we have with a girl to unlock a new scene, but until now it was also necessary to buy a new item in the gift store, however, for the new content of Mary will be different, this time the event will be activated automatically (With the amount of purple hearts enough) while we perform our routine in Argleton.

I think this combination of dynamics, added to all the ones already in the game, will add much more immersion to the daily life in Argleton with new hidden surprises and unexpected events.

As for the shower events (available for some girls) there will now be a new improvement and that is a new hint in the character profile. Until now the only way to know that these events existed, was to have the sound activated to hear the shower, at that time you had to go to the bathroom and that would activate a new scene, but I think that this small upgrade will improve the flow of gameplay for those who want to discover all the scenes.

Now yes, the biggest novelty that has been included during these weeks.

A new item has been added to the gift store, the measurement set.

This object allows us to obtain all the information that until now remained hidden from each girl (height, weight, and measurements).

But let's go in order…

The profile of each of the Lucky Paradox characters has personal information, but until now we could only see a "??". From now on, it will be possible to obtain all that kind of information progressively as we improve our relationship with each girl and our level of attributes.

In total, it will consist of lines of dialogue divided into three levels of progression, with questions that will depend on our level of one of these three attributes (Charisma, Creativity, Subtlety). The required attribute will depend on each girl (with a minimum requirement of 50 and a maximum of 100). Though, it will also depend on our relationship level (Red or Purple Hearts).

  • With the first level, we will get the age and birthday.
  • With the second level, we will obtain the height and weight (One Red Heart required).
  • With the third level, we will get the measurements (One Purple Heart required).

When the question is asked and the requirements are fulfilled, an exclusive image will be unlocked (something like a pinup).

But that’s not all.

By getting the birthday of each girl, that day will be marked in our calendar. A message will also be added informing who has a birthday during the month we are in.

When we reach the appointed day, that character will have a birthday and will be added to the profile. This will be dynamic, so if we get to know Maxy's age at the beginning of the game, it will be 21 years old, but if we ask her on December 12, then she will say she is 22 years old. In the future, I will add special events for each girl's birthday, which will be optional.

And well, Maxy/Mary change on the calendar depending on which one is present on our day.

I think additions like this make the game feel more alive and add a lot to the gameplay experience and immersion.

While working on the heights, weights, and measurements, I ran into a problem…

What measurement system am I going to use?

Height in inches or centimeters? Weight in kilograms or pounds?

Since I couldn't decide on one, I decided to include both hahaha

I prefer to leave it to the player's choice which measurement system they want to use, so I added a button that allows you to switch at any time between both units of measurement. The values were approximate to avoid decimals, but I think the result is quite satisfactory.

This, which seems silly, has forced me to rewrite a large part of the code for the character profiles, but I just couldn't decide hahaha

There's quite a bit left to finish the development of version 0.8, and you can enjoy the whole update, it's taken longer than I expected, but I think it's been totally worth it.

Good so much good stuff coming might as well restart the game when the new update comes out

Great as always. I really like the idea of making the days in Argleton more interesting by adding the extra events as well as finally getting to know the character information. The birthday stats will be very welcome. Thanks again for all the hard work you put into the game.
