As lately I have seen quite a few problems and confusions with the new version of Android, I thought it would be timely to create a post that could help as much as possible with all your problems.

I will explain the two methods that currently exist to play Lucky Paradox on Android, and it is up to you to decide which one to use. Results may vary between different devices, but in general, this should work in mostly all the cases.

Method 1 - Install the Apk

The new version of Android consists of two main files; the apk and archive.rpa. The first one includes all the code and dialogs of the game, while archive.rpa includes all the graphics and sound elements.

Both files will be compressed inside a rar or zip archive.

To install everything, the steps are as follows:

1.- Unzip the zip file, with the apk and the archive.rpa.

2.- Install the Lucky Paradox apk and open it (it's going to fail), which will generate a new folder called “DOCUMENTS” and another one inside called “Renpy-Saves”.

3.- Find the other file contained in the previous rar called “archive.rpa” and click copy.

4.- Go to the folder created by the apk “Renpy-Saves”, then “lucky.paradox” and then the “GAME” folder.

5.- Paste archive.rpa inside the “GAME” folder.

6.- And now you can start the Lucky Paradox app and enjoy the game on your Android!

Method 2 - Use Joiplay and use the Windows version

In this case, it will be necessary to emulate the Windows version on Android, for which you can use the compressed version to save space.

The steps are as follows:

1.- First you will need to install Joiplay app.

2- Now you must install plugin to make it compatible with Renpy (LP Engine), called Plugin Ren'py for Joiplay.

Optional: You could get the last version of Joiplay on their Patreon page for better results.

3.- Once installed, we will open the Joiplay app, and see this menu with the option pointed in the image, this option is for adding a new game.

4.- We will click on Choose, we will go to the folder where we have Lucky Paradox Windows unzipped (You'll need the pc version downloaded on your phone), in my case the Download Folder and we will select the exe of the game, “Lucky_Paradox.exe”.

5.- Now we can name it whatever we want, name also the version of it and finally choose an icon, but the app will make an icon automatically for us if we don’t have one.

6.- And now you have everything set up, just click on the icon that just appeared and enjoy Lucky Paradox.

Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ

1.- At startup, the game crashes with a missing file error:

Answer: This happens if the .rpa file has not been copied to the game folder correctly. You must check if you have copied it where it goes, because the game crashes when it does not find the necessary graphic resources.

2.- When I start the game, the screen is black, and I only see texts:

Answer: The solution is the same as in the previous step, and it occurs for the same reason, although for some reason it does not crash, but runs the game anyway, but not finding graphic resources, the backgrounds are black.

3. When updating the apk, the new content indicates that an image is missing:

Answer: The reason is the same as the previous cases, but as you are using the archive.rpa from the previous version, you need to copy, paste and replace the archive.rpa with the one from the new update.

4. The game crashes several times when playing Lucky Paradox on Android:

Answer: This has two alternatives, one is a consequence of a bad copy of the archive.rpa in the game folder, and the other is due to the phone not having the necessary capacity to run the game (This one is very rare, as the requirements of Lucky Paradox are quite low).

5. I need to copy/load my game saves:

Answer: The save files are in the lucky.paradox folder generated by the new apk. Unlike the old version of Android, these are not deleted when uninstalling the apk, to avoid game loss.

6. The "Social Tab" appears empty and without characters:

Answer: This has nothing to do with Android and only happens if you have a save too old (Surely you played the first versions of Lucky Paradox years ago), the game went through a complete remaster and much of the code was made from scratch, as a result, that save is not compatible with the current version of the game...
